I think that my project was effective in that all the learners wanted to get involved in drawing their part on the cardboard. You could see the excitement on their faces when it came to break time. The teachers enjoyed the artwork that we displayed after each theme was completed. I hope that the message of how art can help with mental health as another form of communication.
I think it changed me personally in a way, where doing a project like this really has a big impact on the mental well-being of individuals and knowing that I can do something about it makes me realise that I can have a bigger impact on people's lives. Knowing that I was able to conduct such a project in such a short span of time and conduct it successfully, provides me with the skills of conducting any other form of a social project.
Professionally, my planning and organisational skills have developed, making sure that the project doesn't interfere with learning time, and the important peoples are notified on what is going on. Additionally, my attitude towards projects such as this has become more positive because of the results that came about.
The benefit of this initiative is noticing and realising how important a positive mental state is for learners at such a young age. And so, by conducting this project I hope that the school realises that art is another form of communication and therapy, and supports the mental health of all people, both adults and children.
The use of artwork for exploring themes of the mental state is definitely intriguing. What I like most about this project is the freedom of expression for the learners and the opportunity to feel valued and appreciated when the artwork goes up. Projects such as this should be launched more often in schools to cultivate positive environments.

Hope and I shared our Social Action project. The learners were genuinely excited to draw on the cardboard and there was a calm and relaxing atmosphere. Hope shows a true reflection of the initiative.
